I was you

I don't know if you know this,

But I actually have a regular job. Like a 9-5.

So why do I spend weekends away from fun and weeknights away from sleep,

Writing hundreds of essays?

It's for those who get screwed by the system.

The kid without the legacy name.

The kid without parents who knew exactly how admissions worked.

The kid who spent years doing everything right, only to feel like the rules changed because of race-conscious admissions and factors completely outside of their control.

I've only ever hoped for one thing.

That the overlooked,

The underestimated,

The ones in an admissions process supposedly built on merit and wonder why merit alone isn't enough.

That you know you matter.

Because I was that kid too.

I can't give you a different school, better connections, or four years of opportunities you never had.

I can't give you a different last name that unlocks doors or rolls smoother off the English tongue.

But I can give you something powerful enough to fight back with:

Your story.

Written so well they can't ignore you.
